Lavender & lace at

The Bothy Farm

Pick-Your-Own — Farm Experience — Public Garden — Artisan

1/1

Since 2015, Lavender & Lace has produced 11 varieties of lavender when The Bothy Farm re-purposed a horse pasture into lavender beds. Growing lavender is an adventure that fits our lifestyle.

Our first 450 young lavender plants were plants were planted in May 2016. We planted 6 varieties including the popular Provence lavender. The next year 700 more lavender were planted. Friends and family came together for the large undertaking with all hands in the dirt. Surprisingly, our hands smelled fragrant from handling the lavender! Two additional beds were planted in 2018 with four more varieties of lavender. Exciting!

The year we will be replanting 300+ lavender plants due to substantial weather-related losses. When planting there is always replanting.

We are also excited to show people how lavender is planted and grows. Plus, we are glad to demonstrate how hand tatted lace is created. We will be offering tatting classes to interested folks, including men, women & teenagers.

Lavender blooms from Memorial Day through June.

Touring our lavender is free. Groups are welcome. Schedule your group by calling 540-905-4749. Pets on leashes are welcome. Pick you own lavender. Our Farm Shop has locally produced lavender products such as soap, essential oil, sachets, and much more! Plus, tatted lace items are for sale. Specialty lavender product classes will be scheduled on the www.bothyfarm.com calendar.
